RRB Junior Engineer

  

Railway Recruitment Board conducts RRB JE examination giving candidates a golden opportunity to fulfil their dream of joining the prestigious Government Sector. RRB JE Recruitment is especially for the candidates who are having the engineering qualification either in Degree or Diploma from any recognised university.


RRB JE Selection Procedure 


There will be an online exam in two stages for RRB JE, the first stage will be a screening test while the Second Stage will determine the Final Merit List. The Selection Process for RRB Junior Engineer is based on three stages

1. Computer Based Test  Stage I

2. Computer Based Test Stage II

3. Document Verification/ Medical Examination

RRB JE Computer Based Test Stage I will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). A candidate needs to qualify the RRB JE CBT-I Exam to appear for the second stage of the CBT. The Exam will be divided into four sections- Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning.

· There will be 1/3rd of negative marking.

· Minimum passing percentage of marks-

o General – 40%

o OBC – 30%

o SC – 30%

o ST – 25%

If you qualify in the first stage of CBT then only you will be called for the Second Stage CBT. Let’s take a look at the RRB JE Exam Pattern for Second Stage CBT.


2. Computer Based Test Stage II


Candidates, who qualify the RRB JE CBT-I will then have to take CBT-II. Like CBT-I, CBT-II will be Multiple Choice Questions type examination. Candidates qualifying the RRB JE CBT-II will then have to go through a Document Verification Process. Following are the details for the RRB JE CBT II exam


The Exam Pattern for RRB JE CBT II contains five sections. Each question in these sections carry 1 mark. The questions distribution for RRB JE CBT II is given below.

3. Document Verification


If you get selected in the Second Stage CBT as per the cut-off decided by the Recruitment Board, you will be called for Document Verification. A candidate must submit all the documents on the day of Document Verification, no extra time is allowed by RRB to submit the documents. Here is the complete list of the documents that a candidate needs to bring on the Document Verification day-

· Character Certificate

· Date of Birth proof

· Degree Certificate

· Caste Certificate(Wherever applicable)

· Two self-attested colored photographs

· Domicile Certificate(Wherever applicable)

· Ex-Servicemen Certificate(Wherever applicable)

· Railway Employee Certificate(Wherever applicable)

· Widow/Divorce Certificate(Wherever applicable)


4. Medical Examination


To get selected in RRB JE Exam, one needs to pass through a Medical Examination. Following is the categorization of the fitness standards


Medical Standard, General Fitness & Vision Standards

 

1.  A-3

Physically fit in all respects

Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D),

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6,0.6 with or without   glasses and Must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Mesopic vision

 

2.  B-1

Physically fit in all respects

Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D),

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without   glasses when reading or close work is required and Must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Mesopic vision.

 

3.  B-2

Physically fit in all respects

Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D).

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without   glasses when reading or close work is required and Must pass test for Binocular Vision.

 

4.  C-1

Physically fit in all respects

Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses.

Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without   glasses when reading or close work is required.
